Our Curriculum Philosophy

Froebel Cambridge Preschool - Curriculum Philosophy

At Froebel Cambridge Preschool, our curriculum is thoughtfully crafted, drawing inspiration from the educational legacies of Friedrich Froebel and Dr. Maria Montessori, while staying fully aligned with the progressive vision of NEP 2020. Our goal is to nurture curious thinkers, independent learners, and compassionate individuals through hands-on discovery, creative play, and meaningful engagement.

Curriculum Highlights

Key Curriculum Highlights

  1. 1 Purposeful Play & Experiential Learning

In the spirit of Froebel, we embrace “learning through purposeful play.” Children thrive in thoughtfully designed environments where they are encouraged to observe, imagine, and innovate through active experiences.

  2. 2 Individualized & Child-Led Approach

Reflecting Montessori principles, children explore concepts at their own pace with freedom of choice and responsibility. Carefully curated materials support focused learning and steady growth.

  3. 3 5E Learning Framework Integration

We embed the dynamic 5E Model into our teaching to foster inquiry and deeper understanding:
    - Engage: Children’s curiosity is sparked through interactive stories, songs, and real-life scenarios.
    - Explore: They experiment, investigate, and engage with materials and surroundings to make personal discoveries.
    - Explain: Teachers tailor their approach—using visual aids, storytelling, demonstrations, or hands-on guidance—based on each child’s learning style.
    - Elaborate: Concepts are deepened through theme-based projects, creative challenges, and integrated learning experiences.
    - Evaluate: Ongoing observation and reflective feedback help track individual progress and developmental milestones.

  4. 4 Strong Foundations in Literacy & Numeracy

Aligned with NEP’s Foundational Literacy & Numeracy (FLN) focus, we build essential skills in reading, writing, and math through phonics-based instruction, number games, and real-world problem-solving.

  5. 5 Thematic & Cross-Curricular Learning

Our thematic approach seamlessly blends language, mathematics, environmental awareness, art, and sensorial activities—enabling children to connect concepts across multiple domains.

  6. 6 Montessori & Froebel-Inspired Learning Aids

We combine Montessori tools with Froebel’s original educational play materials (also known as “learning gifts”) to enhance tactile awareness, logical reasoning, and spatial understanding

  7. 7 Skills for the 21st Century

Creativity, collaboration, leadership, analytical thinking, and effective communication are cultivated through group explorations, dramatic play, and design-based tasks.

  8. 8 Character Building & Social Learning

Through daily routines, storytelling, and cooperative play, children develop empathy, patience, self-regulation, and respect for others—essential values for personal and social well-being.

  9. 9 Multilingual Foundations

Children are introduced to English, regional, and additional languages through songs, conversational games, and visual tools—supporting NEP’s vision for multilingual competence.

  10. 10 Dynamic Learning Spaces

Our classrooms feature specialized learning zones for literacy, numeracy, pretend play, discovery, and creative expression—encouraging independence and immersive engagement.

  11. 11 Ready for Every Learning Journey Ahead

With a thoughtfully integrated curriculum and skilled educators, our children develop strong foundations—cognitively, socially, and emotionally. This equips them to transition confidently into any advanced learning environment, with adaptability, resilience, and a genuine passion for learning that endures.

Our Programs

We meet kids at their level regardless of their age

  • Pre-Nursery

    Age (2-3)

A gentle transition from home to preschool. Children engage with sensory bins, soft blocks, musical instruments, and finger puppets to develop their sense of touch, sound, and vision—fostering emotional comfort and helping them develop early communication skills.

  • Nursery

    Age (3-4)

Exploration through play-based learning, focused on curiosity and self-expression. Activities like art, rhymes, and group play enhance language and build the joy of learning through discovery. Using Froebel gifts like building blocks, shape puzzles, beads, and storytelling aids, children strengthen fine motor skills, vocabulary, and imagination.

  • Junior KG

    Age (4-5)

Hands-on, theme-based learning that blends structured instruction with play. Early literacy, numeracy, and environmental awareness are taught through interactive themes—boosting logic, focus, and creativity. Children explore sand trays, number rods, phonetic cards, and pattern blocks, developing early reading and problem-solving skills through guided discovery.

  • Senior KG

    Age (5-6)

Focused on academic readiness with creative thinking, designed to prepare children for primary school. They engage in reading, writing, math, and public speaking, with emphasis on independence, critical thinking, and classroom readiness. Activities include storytelling kits, math manipulatives, movable alphabets, and science experiments—preparing children with confidence and curiosity for primary school.
